The coming year is a huge one for Sheffield Wednesday, not just because they are looking to end their long wait for a Premier League return, but the club is also celebrating their 150th birthday.  

Wednesday were founded in 1867, with the Owls now lining up a number of celebrations to mark their 150th year of existence, with ex players set to make an appearance at an anniversary dinner.

The landmark is also well talked about by the club’s current crop of players, with Barry Bannan taking to Twitter to wish the club a happy birthday, whilst also stating his pride at representing the Owls.

Bannan has been an Owl since the summer of 2015, and during his first two seasons at Hillsborough the 27-year-old has helped the club to back-to-back play-off appearances, whilst making 83 Championship appearances.
