Hartlepool United didn't have the strongest season last year as they finished the campaign sat 17th in League Two

Manager Graeme Lee was dismissed from his duties at the end of the season and Paul Hartley is now ready to take the club into the new season.

The Pools boss will be keen to make the right additions to his side this summer to enable them to compete further up in League Two as well as making sure he puts his own stamp on the side.

With that in mind, here we take a look at some of the lates transfer news coming out of Victoria Park.

Stuart McKinstry

According to a report in the Yorkshire Evening Post, the Pools are interested in a move for McKinstry on a loan deal from Leeds United this summer.

The 19-year-old impressed in Premier League 2 this season with two goals and four assists in 21 appearances.

Therefore, Leeds are keen to get him out on a loan to give him the opportunity to get some senior game time under his belt.

This would be a good additions for Hartlepool as a young player hungry for some game time and given he has shown potential so far, there's no reason why he couldn't add to the side.

Omar Bogle

Bogle is leaving the club for Newport County.

Joining the Pools in the January transfer window, the striker went on to score five goals and provide an assist in 20 games for the club.

The 28-year-old did remain under contract at Victoria Park until 2024 but County have made their move .

Neill Byrne

Byrne is another of Hartlepool's players attracting interest this summer.

The 29-year-old was a core part of the side last season as he made 40 appearances in the league.

We recently brought you an exclusive report that Tranmere Rovers are interested in gaining his services this summer.

The defender arrived at Hartlepool last summer meaning he is still under contract until next summer.

Therefore, whilst the Pools don't want to lose a core part of their side, it could be their last chance to make some money off him so it's one for the new boss to weigh up.
