Wednesday night presents a battle between two promotion rivals competing for a play-off spot, as Aston Villa host Nottingham Forest at Villa Park.

The Villans go into the fixture full of confidence, on the back of a magnificent 4-2 win over arch rivals Birmingham City last Sunday, in the Second City derby.

It’s now 4 wins out of 6 games for the former Brentford boss, with Villa looking to make it four wins on the bounce and leapfrog the Reds into 7th position.

It won't be an easy task by any means for Villa though - Forest are very hard to beat having lost just one of their last twelve league games, and Aitor Karanka's men are unbeaten in their last five after an impressive 2-0 victory at Hull City last weekend.

With that being said, here, we take a look at the Aston Villa XI that is expected to face Nottingham Forest tomorrow, after a magnificent result at the weekend...

Nyland has been a consistent figure in between the sticks for Villa this term, and the Norweigan will be looking to step up his game with Villa reportedly interested in signing Burnley's Tom Heaton.

After his sensational run and finish against Birmingham, the "Scottish Cafu" will be looking to put in yet another impressive display this weekend.

Chester has forged a good understanding with Axel Tuanzebe in recent weeks, and the 29-year old has played an inetgral role in Villa's turnaround in defence.

Tuanzebe has been impressive for Villa since arriving from Manchester United in the summer, and the young defender has helped Villa keep two clean sheets in three league games recently.

Taylor - who completes an unchanged back-line - will be looking to improve on his own performance after being run ragged by Connor Mahoney at the weekend.

The first change comes in the form of Yannick Bolasie in for Albert Adomah.

The latter looked to be in a bad way after being substituted at the weekend, and Bolasie will be looking to make an impact in what he hopes will be his first Villa start since arriving on loan from Everton.

Conor Hourihane has been one of the standout performers under Dean Smith, and there is no reason why the Irishman should be dropped anytime soon.

The second change comes in the form of John McGinn in for Glenn Whelan.

Whelan may have looked solid against Blues, but McGinn has been Villa's star-man this season, and will be looking to make a return to the first-team if he is fit.

Kodjia netted Villa's equaliser against Blues, and the Ivorian is finding his feet playing out wide.

Grealish was an absolute nightmare for Birmingham's defence on Sunday and scored Villa's second goal - he will be such an important player for Villa in their quest for promotion.

Completing the team is Tammy Abraham, who netted Villa's third goal on Sunday afternoon - taking his tally up to six for the season.
