Preston North End have a big crunch clash against Luton Town this weekend, in what could be a make or break tie for Frankie McAvoy’s side.

PNE are struggling at the wrong end of the table so far this campaign and after a 2-0 loss to rivals Blackpool last week, everyone involved at Deepdale will want to right that wrong this weekend.

If they can’t respond with a win though, then even more questions could be asked about the future of their current boss and whether he should continue with the Lilywhites.

After resting some important players in their midweek tie to Liverpool, the club can now turn to some well-rested first team players in their bid to try and get back to winning ways.

Here then is our predicted XI

It should be a return to a similar side that lost to Blackpool, with the exception of two important changes.

It's highly unlikely that Frankie McAvoy will suddenly abandon his preferred formation, so expect to see PNE's familiar five at the back with two wing-backs and Daniel Iversen should come back in to play in goal.

Sepp van den Berg and Josh Earl have been two very important players for North End this season and both should start again, even though the former of the two played in midweek against his parent club. In midfield, another fantastic Ali McCann performance against Liverpool should prompt the Preston boss to keep him in the centre of the field alongside Ben Whiteman.

It's harsh on last year's Player of the Season Ryan Ledson but there simply isn't enough room to fit in all of their midfield talent.

Daniel Johnson is likely to retain his role in attacking midfield and with Alan Browne sent off against Blackpool, he won't be in contention to potentially take Johnson's position.

Up front, Sean Maguire should start again now he is back to full fitness alongside the partner he has created such a solid connection with this season in Emil Riis. The Dane is the club's top scorer this season and seems to thrive when played alongside the battling Maguire - so if Frankie McAvoy wants goals and three points, then he should return to this partnership.
