Since arriving at the Riverside Stadium In December, Tony Pulis has revived Middlesbrough's season and his team's form since he took over from Garry Monk has lifted the club firmly into contention for a place in the end of season play-offs.

Pulis' uncompromising style doesn't always please everyone but there is little to doubt that his approach has been effective in the North East and you certainly won't find too many Boro fans complaining just now as they sit inside the Championship play-off places.

Former boss Monk spent a lot of money during the summer and a more reserved approach might be on the agenda for the club during the summer - particularly if promotion back to the Premier League isn't achieved.

With that in mind, FLW writer Lee Clarke looks at three players who boss Pulis could sign on free transfers during the summer transfer window...

The Northern Ireland international is a man who Tony Pulis knows all about following their time together at West Bromwich Albion and a summer move could be on the cards for the veteran.

At 38-years-old it seems unlikely that the Albion will offer the central defender a new deal any time soon and Pulis might choose to pounce on a player who could still offer a lot to any club in the Championship.

The Derby County man will see his contract expire during the summer and Boro boss Tony Pulis could hand the central midfielder the chance to continue his career at the Rams' Championship rivals.

The 31-year-old still has a lot to offer any club in the second tier and his arrival at the Riverside Stadium would surely represent a shrewd piece of business for the club.

The versatile Sunderland defender is a player who would improve the back four at Middlesbrough no end and boss Pulis could look to pounce on the free agent this summer.

Sunderland will surely ring the changes during the close season ahead of a probable League One campaign next season and Jones could be one player who doesn't pen a new deal with the Black Cats.

Middlesbrough fans, would you welcome these three players to the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
