Rory McArdle has signed a new deal with Bradford City, the club has confirmed via the official website.

Defender will remain with the Bantams until 2017 after putting pen to paper on a three-year deal. His current contract was set to expire this summer. Speaking to the club’s website, the Northern Ireland international expressed his excitement.

“Having spoken to the manager already this summer, I am excited about the future for the club and I want to be a part of it. The progress the club has made in the two years that I’ve been here already has been very impressed. To me, it shows the club is moving in the right direction.

“I think we acquitted ourselves well in League 1 last season and we want to continue to improve next season.”

Bradford City have already secured the signing of Matthew Dolan from Middlesbrough following his loan spell at the Valley Parade.
