As per reports from TEAMtalk, Birmingham City have been linked with the summer signing of Crewe Alexandra captain Perry Ng.

The 23-year-0ld has been a key player for Crewe over the past few years, making over 150 appearances for the League Two side since coming through the ranks at Gresty Road.

The versatile defender, who operates mainly as a right-back but can also play at centre-half, has registered five assists for Dave Artell's side in their bid for promotion this term.

But Ng faces an uncertain future at Gresty Road, with his contract set to expire in the summer.

TEAMtalk claim that Birmingham are among a host of clubs chasing Ng's signature on a free transfer, along with the likes of Nottingham Forest, Derby County and Bristol City.

It's a potential signing that could be a useful one for Blues, especially as it would be a free transfer - Ng has plenty of potential who possesses real leadership qualities and can play in a number of positions across the back-line.
