Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa named Izzy Brown in the matchday squad for the 1-1 draw against Middlesbrough and even though the player did not get on, it was still a landmark moment for the player who has been out of action since suffering knee-ligament damage back in January 2018, whilst on-loan at Brighton from Chelsea.

The 22-year-old signed for Leeds on loan in the summer whilst still recovering from the injury and has only started to get back to fitness in the last few weeks, that led to some appearances for the Leeds U23 squad.

But even though the player's first-team game time at Leeds has been non-existent so far, that has not stopped the Whites considering making the loan move permanent, according to Phil Hay on Twitter.

So how sensible would it be for Leeds to attempt to sign Brown on a permanent deal?

We discuss.....

George Harbey

"It doesn’t surprise me.

"Brown has barely made an impact at Leeds his season, and it would be ridiculous to not try and sign him on a permanent.

"He’ll feel like a new signing when he’s back fit."

Alfie Burns

“Maybe this was the plan all along.

“Brown has had a tough year, but he is used to how the club work under Marcelo Bielsa, which could be invaluable if he signed on a permanent deal.

“It could genuinely prove to be a stroke of genius from the Whites.”

Jay Taylor

“It would be some comeback for a player who has had nothing but a nightmare loan.

“Brown has been bereft with injury during his time at Elland Road.

“I would be surprised, as he could well be crocked should be sign permanently.”
