Norwich City joint majority shareholder Delia Smith has been recognised by the Queen for her services to cooking and cookery education in the UK.

The famous TV chef was awarded the prestigious Order of Companions of Honour award in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace, in what was a proud moment in the 76-year-old’s distinguished career.

The club shared an article on their official website detailing the award, with Smith harbouring a long-time affiliation with the club, after investing in the Canaries when the club fell on hard times.

Perhaps most famous for her 2005 ‘Let’s be ‘avin’ you’ half-time rant during the Premier League clash against Manchester City, Smith is a passionate supporter of the East Anglian side, and even ran the catering department at Carrow Road before stepping down from the role in 2011.
