‘May as well look for another club in January’, ‘Beyond baffling’ – Many Sheffield Wednesday fans furious at treatment of one man

Sheffield Wednesday were beaten comfortably by Huddersfield Town last night and many fans were left frustrated by how late Tony Pulis left it before introducing Izzy Brown.

First-half goals from Josh Koroma and Isaac Mbenza gave the Terriers a win over their Yorkshire rivals but in truth, the Owls barely laid a glove on Carlos Corberan’s men.

Despite chasing the game for almost 80 minutes, Wednesday managed just two shots on target at the John Smith’s Stadium last night – finishing the game with an xG of just 0.21.

The Owls looked toothless for much of the game but Pulis waited until the 85th minute to bring on Brown, the Chelsea loanee that provided seven assists in just 25 Championship games for relegation-battling Luton Town last term.

The 23-year-old was a regular fixture in the starting XI at the start of the season but an injury kept him out for the majority of October and he has seen his playtime greatly reduced since Pulis took charge in the November international break.

Which club did Sheffield Wednesday sign each of these 25 players from?

Wednesday remain bottom of the Championship and their new boss has now gone six games without a win.

It seems the Hillsborough faithful are beginning to get frustrated at his decision-making, particularly his unwillingness to use Brown.

Many fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration after the game…
