Birmingham City could see a long-awaited change in ownership happen over the summer, with a consortium involving former Barcelona footballer Maxi Lopez hoping to kick off a new era at the Blues.
The season just finished for Birmingham was certainly a tough one, with them struggling for form and ultimately, if Derby and Reading had not received points deductions, they would have likely been involved in a relegation scrap.
That’s all academic now, though, and what needs to happen this summer is a number of positive changes on and off the pitch so progress can start being made at St Andrew’s.
The fans want new owners, of course, and have done for some time, with it looking as though Lopez, alongside Blues fan Paul Richardson, who is the ex-director of Gymshark and owner of Cheltenham-based fashion brand Hera London, among others, want to buy the club.
Indeed, Lopez underlined that by sharing an image of Richardson on Twitter today:

Time will tell whether the group is successful, but fans will certainly be hoping that they are going to be.
The club has meandered for too long and needs better guidance from the very top of the club – let’s see if this sorts some of their issues.
