Norwich City have made an exceptional start to life back in the Championship, with Daniel Farke's side looking well placed to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

That's been helped by Farke retaining a pool of his previous title-winning squad. Emi Buendia and Teemu Pukki continue to light up the attack, whilst keeping hold of Max Aarons at right-back has been some coup.

The summer transfer window saw Aarons linked with a plethora of clubs. That included Barcelona and Bayern Munich with the young full-back's season in the Premier League really catching the eye.

However, where Jamal Lewis (the full-back on the opposite side of Norwich's defence) moved on, Aarons didn't.

Did these 25 players make more or less than 100 Norwich City appearances?

He's made 19 appearances for Norwich in the Championship this season and scored one goal. He's been a mainstay for Farke again and helped the Canaries to the top of the table.

Just around the corner is the January transfer window and, more than likely, a bit more speculation surrounding Aarons.

Last month, the 20-year-old told the PinkUn podcast of the interest from Barcelona in particular: “There was a lot of talk and that time period was a crazy few weeks when everything was going off. To be linked with the biggest club in the world, in my opinion, was amazing.

“There’s going to be a time where you can say more and speak about it in a bit more detail but as soon as it was over and everything was finished, I couldn’t be disheartened or down about anything. I’ve got a job to do at Norwich and play the best I can. That’s what was important to me at the time.”

In truth, there's not a lot that's been said regarding Aarons heading into the next transfer window.

Naturally, he will be of interest to clubs given his talent, but his situation at Norwich is an interesting one.

There's a good chance he will win a second promotion in three seasons and be back in the Premier League by the summer transfer window. That takes the heat off this winter for Aarons.

If he retains his focus, Norwich's grip on the promotion race should not waver.
