Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is eyeing fire-power that can complement his current squad, and score the goals they will need to flourish in the Premier League next season.
Two players at the top of Wilder’s wish-list are Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie and Brentford forward Neal Maupay, both of whom scored over 20 goals in the league this season, as per the Star.
But out of the two, who should the Blades be prioritising? McBurnie or Maupay?
“Hard to say.
“I think Maupay is the better striker but I think McBurnie would be a fine fit for the Blades’ system.
“He’s an old-school forward in many ways and might flourish under Chris Wilder.”
“Whilst McBurnie feels more like a ‘Wilder signing’, I’ll go with Maupay.
“For me, he’s one of the best strikers outside the Championship and his sheer power will benefit the Blades back in the Premier League.
“I’ve a gut feeling Wilder might sign both, but if he’s going to prioritise one, it should be Maupay.”
“Maupay for me.
“McBurnie is a very good player and will no doubt become a very good striker in the top flight over the next few years, but I think he needs a bit more experience.
“Maupay has established himself as one of the most prolific strikers in the Championship.
“He could be capable of making the step up to the Premier League and he deserves a chance to prove himself in the top flight.”
