Nottingham Forest's Matty Cash rued missed chances as Cardiff ran out 1-0 winners at the City Ground on Saturday.

The Reds had a hatful of chances but couldn't take them and this meant that they fell off in the race for the automatic promotion spots.

Forest have had a very good season so far, and the supporters will be pleased with how it has gone but they will know they can't have too many fixtures like this one otherwise they will end up finishing outside of the top six.

Cash has expressed that it was disappointing but he knows the side created enough chances to have scored in the game.

Speaking to Nottingham Forest's official website, Cash said: "It was very disappointing. I think we created enough chances to score and they took one of their only chances which proved to be the game changer.

"We started the game really well, the first 15 minutes we were on top and we had a few good chances but then after they’d scored, they were really solid at the back and we tried to create something but couldn’t.”

The Verdict

It was a really odd game, but one that Neil Harris would have been delighted with from a Cardiff perspective, especially away from home.

You can see why Matty Cash was frustrated, he knows that the Forest team had a hatful of chances and should have really got at least a draw from the match.

It should be really interesting to see how they get on for the rest of the season and to see if they can stay in the top six and potentially get promoted to the top flight. Sabri Lamouchi has to make sure his side are more clinical if they're going to continue fighting at the right end of the table.
