Matty Cash was one of the Nottingham Forest players to send a message to Rafa Mir on social media, after it was confirmed that the striker will be joining Spanish side SD Huesca.

Mir joined Forest on a season-long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer, but the Spanish centre-forward really struggled to make an impact at the City Ground.

The 22-year-old made 13 appearances for the Reds, but failed to score a single goal. He started just two matches in the Championship and last featured for the club at the start of December.

Forest announced on their club website yesterday evening that Mir's loan spell at the City Ground has been cut short and that the striker will be returning to Wolves.

It was then announced by Wolves today that the striker would be returning to his home country and that he has signed an 18-month loan deal with Spanish second-division side SD Huesca.

Following the news, Mir posted an update on his personal

Cash was one of the Nottingham Forest players to react to the message and commented "All the best bro" while John Bostock commented the flames emoji. Tiago Silva and Yuri Ribeiro were also among those to comment.

The Verdict

Things didn't work out for Mir at Nottingham Forest, but hopefully the striker will be able to get his career back on track in Spain.

He scored seven goals in the Spanish second division for Las Palmas last season, so he should be able to make an impact for SD Huesca and it could help him to regain his confidence.

I'm sure he'll appreciate these messages from his former Forest teammates and will hope that the Reds can go on to win promotion this season.
