Millwall have looked as strong a team as ever in the 2021/22 campaign and will be eager to keep themselves chugging along nicely towards the top end of the Championship this weekend by picking up a win against Luton Town.

The Lions have been forced to grind out results and picked up some superb wins so far this year, and the Hatters will provide the next challenge for them.

They’ve done equally as well this year, as they too might fancy themselves as dark horses for a potential play-off place.

Millwall though have the superior record over Luton in recent games between the two, having not lost in any of their last four games against them. They’ll be determined to keep that run going and after the result in their last game – a 1-0 win over Barnsley – Gary Rowett probably won’t tinker with a winning formula too much.

There are two changes to this team from their last game in the Championship and that’s down to a rotation and an injury.

First of all, George Saville is likely to be sidelined for the game, so it will mean another midfielder having to step into his shoes. It won’t be an easy task, as the player has had a good season so far but Billy Mitchell has played in enough games this season to be able to step in and do a decent enough job in his absence.

The other change would be to bring Matt Smith back in for Benik Afobe. The latter of the two had a quiet game against Barnsley and the former is always a handful, even if he hasn’t been able to hit the target too regularly himself yet. With Sheyi Ojo and the superb Jed Wallace behind him, he can hold up the ball and let those two skilful players create the magic needed to see off Luton. It could work and it could get them the three points.
