Sky Sports pundit Matt Murray has heaped praise on Nottingham Forest striker Tyler Walker, who is currently on-loan with League One side Lincoln City.

The 22-year-old has made a fantastic start to the season for the Imps, scoring four goals and providing two assists in seven appearances in the league.

Walker joined on loan at the start of August and has helped Lincoln, who were promoted from League Two last season, to climb to fifth in the table.

Speaking on Soccer Saturday (quotes via the Nottingham Post), Murray was full of praise for the Imps goalscorer.

He said: “Tyler Walker is a really good signing. You watch him at Nottingham Forest and he did well.

“He went to Mansfield and did well. He's doing well this season, scoring all types of goals.

"He's got loads of pace and he's getting more and more cultured with his finishing.

"He's a really good player. Lincoln used to be 4-4-2 but now they're changing by bringing in players like Jorge Grant, who also came from Nottingham Forest.

"Walker can lead the line, but he can stretch teams in behind. Forest are having their player's value added to, but for Tyler, it's a chance to learn and improve.”

Lincoln have started the season well but may now have to deal with losing their manager as Danny Cowley is reportedly close to taking the job at Huddersfield Town.

The Verdict

Murray is bang on here, Walker’s move to Lincoln is proving positive for all the parties involved at the moment.

Walker has hit the ground running for the Imps, helping them to compete at the top of the league, and is certainly doing his future at Forest no harm.

He bagged 26 goals for Mansfield in League Two last season and appears to have dealt with the step-up brilliantly.

Reds fans will no doubt be excited to see him doing well and it will be interesting to see if his parent club consider recalling him to provide cover for Lewis Grabban in January.
