Tranmere Rovers have signed two players on deadline day

Experienced defender Matt Hill has joined Tranmere Rovers on a one-year contract.

The 33 year-old joined the League Two side shortly before the start of the season on a non-contract basis but has been rewarded for his performances with a permanent deal.

Tranmere manager Rob Edwards told the club’s website: “Matt has done really well since he’s been here.

“He’s fitted in really well with the rest of the squad and shown a fantastic attitude. He came here and helped us out when we were short of numbers and he fully deserves this contract.

“He’s a strong defender who gets forward as we saw on Saturday [in the 2-1 win against Morecambe] with his two assists.”

Hill is Tranmere’s second signing of the day following the earlier arrival of striker George Donnelly from Rochdale for an undisclosed fee.
