Swansea City's maintained their impressive start to the season, with a 3-1 away win against Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday night.

The Swans had picked up seven points from their opening three league games heading into the clash at Loftus Road, on the back of a 3-2 home win over Preston North End at the weekend.

Steve Cooper's side got off to the perfect start, too, with Bersant Celina coolly dispatching after being put through one-on-one by Andre Ayew, putting the Welsh side into a 1-0 lead at the interval.

QPR did fight back and grab an equaliser through Jordan Hugill after 66 minutes, but Borja Baston, who scored twice in the victory over Preston on Saturday, converted from the spot after they were awarded a penalty.

Sam Surridge then netted his first goal for the Swans in the dying embers of the contest, to secure a magnificent 3-1 win in West London.

After the game, captain Matt Grimes

Cooper's side currently 2nd in the Championship table after picking up 10 points from their first four games, and they face Birmingham City at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Verdict

What another fantastic win for Swansea on Wednesday night, and what a job Steve Cooper is doing at the helm of the Welsh side.

They showed great character to respond straight away after Hugill equalised for the R's, and Borja Baston's goals will be crucial to them if he remains at the club before the end of the transfer window.

You definitely fancy their chances of being able to beat Birmingham this weekend.
