Swansea City captain Matt Grimes has said that everybody in the squad is looking forward to being back at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday, as Derby make the trip to South Wales.

The Swans will be back at home in front of the Jack Army for the first time since mid-January, and take on a Derby County side on a Championship resurgence.

The Rams have lost just once in their last seven games, winning four of them.

However, Swansea also have been on a roll at home over the last month, and are currently unbeaten in five games at the Liberty Stadium.

QUIZ: Are these 15 ex-Swansea players still playing - yes or no?

Speaking to the club website, Grimes stated that everybody is focused on keeping up the good run of form going.

“We’re always confident playing at the Liberty. I can’t wait to get out there and I’m sure the rest of the lads feel the same way," he said.

"We need to try and take maximum points from those games and set up a decent February."

The Swans have back-to-back home games for the first time since the turn of the year, and the 24-year-old is keen to take advantage of it.

“We must make the most of our home games coming up."

Derby have proven to be a tough team for the Swans over the years.

Swansea's last win over the Rams came all the way back in 2010 - prior to their promotion to the Premier League.

Despite that damning statistic, Grimes remains in a bullish mood ahead of the big game.

“Derby are a decent team with players that can hurt you, but it will all be about us," he said.

“If we do that, we’re capable of beating anyone on the day.”

The Verdict

Grimes has shown his confidence going into the game, and he is well within his rights to do so considering Swansea's recent home form.

Positive results at the Liberty evaded Swansea's grasp for a long period of time, but they are now back on track and will be hoping for another positive performance in front of their supporters.

A win for the Swans could move them up to 7th in the table.
