Coventry City remain well on course to win a timely promotion back into the Championship under the guidance of Mark Robins this season.
The Sky Blues are currently sat top of the League One table, and will be confident of pulling further clear of their promotion-chasing rivals as the season progresses.
However, due to recent off-the-field events, that promotion bid has been called to an abrupt halt, with the EFL previously announcing that fixtures will get back underway when it is deemed safe enough to do so by the relevant authorities.
One player that has been key to their impressive season so far is Matt Godden, with the forward having 15 goals to his name in his 32 appearances to date.
Godden took to Instagram to look back at his goal against Ipswich Town from earlier this season, and revealed that he is missing the feeling of finding the back of the net for the Sky Blues.
Godden’s goal against the Tractor Boys proved to be the difference between the two sides, and he’ll be hoping he can continue to play his part in their promotion bid when competitive action does get back underway in the UK.
Can you score full marks in this Coventry City quiz?
He’s been in brilliant form for Coventry City this season.
I’ll be the first to admit that I had my doubts as to whether he’d be the striker they need to fire them up the League One table, but he’s hardly put a foot wrong since arriving at the club.
If Godden can pick up where he left off when football does eventually return, then the Sky Blues will surely be heading for a timely return back into the Championship.
He deserves a shot in the Championship next season, and his impressive run of form certainly won’t have gone unnoticed this term.
