West Bromwich Albion will be hopeful of putting an end to what has been a superb campaign thus far.

The Baggies have enjoyed a magnificent season under Slaven Bilic, and were well in the hunt for automatic promotion before the EFL season was brought to a halt.

Albion sit second in the Sky Bet Championship table, and are breathing down Leeds United's neck as they look to make a timely return to the Premier League.

One player who has been crucially important in the Baggies' bid for promotion is Matheus Pereira, with the Brazilian establishing himself as one of the best players in the division this year.

The Sporting Lisbon loanee has scored six goals and added 16 assists for Albion, and was due to become a permanent West Brom player for £8.25m if he made another league appearance before the break.

Having been out of action for over two months, Albion players will be looking to keep up on top of their fitness regimes, and Pereira has recently posted a video onto his Twitter page of his workout.

The attacking midfielder insists he's "ready to go back", as he continues to keep in shape.

The Verdict

Pereira has been nothing short of a revelation since joining West Brom, and he will be keen to return to action as soon as possible.

It's a shame, as he would have become a permanent Albion player and that would have acted as a massive boost ahead of the final run-in.

Once the EFL returns to action, West Brom will be eager to get over the line and Pereira will be so important as they look to do so.
