It's a frustrating time to be a football supporter, with recent off-the-field events calling a halt to fixtures across the UK, with no scheduled return date currently in place as of yet.

It means that West Brom's promotion bid has been put on hold, as they look to make a timely return to the Premier League under the guidance of Slaven Bilic.

The Baggies are currently sat second in the Championship table, and are six points clear of third-placed Fulham heading into the final nine games of the season.

But Bilic will know that they need to show improvement when football does return, with West Brom being winless in their last two matches, much to the frustration of the club's supporters.

One player that has been key to their impressive season to date though is Matheus Pereira, who has caught the eye with a number of impressive showings in his first season with the club.

The winger has six goals to his name, as well as chipping in with 16 assists in all competitions this term, and will be hoping he can pick up where he left off when fixtures do return later this year.

Pereira recently took to Twitter to reveal that he's missing not being back in competitive action for the Baggies, as they look to finish this year's campaign strongly.

The Verdict:

I think the majority of West Brom fans will share his feelings here!

They're in with a real chance of winning promotion back into the Premier League this season under the management of Slaven Bilic.

Pereira has been their best player all season for me, and it will be a no-brainer to try and sign him permanently, especially if they're to win promotion into the top-flight this term.

He's caused defenders problems all game with his pace and trickery on the ball, and he'll continue to do so in the Premier League as well.
