Hull City face a difficult trip to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, in a fixture both teams will be desperate to win.

The City Ground plays host to Forest v Hull City

Forest go into this game having won only once at home so far this campaign, and their inconsistency so far this season has left Dougie Freedman's men 11th in the Sky Bet Championship table, three points adrift of the play-off places.

The Tigers have struggled on the road somewhat this season, only picking up one win, and Steve Bruce will be desperate to double that tally on Saturday after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers at the KC Stadium last weekend, which saw his side miss out on an ideal opportunity to strengthen their position in the play-offs, given a few surprising results.

Dougie Freedman could see 29-year-old centre back Matt Mills back in contention for his side on Saturday; Mills missed the Reds' 1-1 draw away to Huddersfield Town last weekend, and the commanding defender will provide a big boost to Freedman's side against a Hull City team who have only failed to score in one league game this season.

Michael Dawson will make an emotional return back to the City ground.

The former England international started his career with Forest, graduating from their youth academy, before moving on to Hull City following a nine year stay with Tottenham Hotspur.

Despite the fact that the experienced Dawson has been an ever-present in the heart of the Tigers' defence this season, the East Yorkshire side have only kept three cleansheets this season.

Saturday's game has the potential to be a thrilling encounter, Hull City cannot afford to slip up again if they are to make the play-offs, and Forest are within touching distance of the top six, but defeats against Middlesbrough, Cardiff City and Brighton and Hove Albion mean that Freedman's side are going to have to start picking up points against the side's above them if they are to have any chance of making the play-offs.
