Nottingham Forest host Middlesbrough as both sides look to build on their impressive form in the Sky Bet Championship, with both sides having almost their whole squad to call upon for the clash at the City Ground

Dougie Freedman's Nottingham Forest go in search of a third straight league win when they entertain Middlesbrough this afternoon (3pm k-o)

The home side currently sit ninth in the table, with just a single point separating them from the top six. They started the season with just one win from their opening five games, losing to Brighton and Hove Albion and Cardiff City, as well as recording draws with Charlton Athletic and Bolton Wanderers.

However, back-to-back wins over QPR and Birmingham City has seen them climb the table, and puts them in good form when they host high-flying Middlesbrough.

Loan signing Jonny Williams could be set to make his debut after building up his fitness since he agreed a deadline day move from Crystal Palace. Fellow loan signings Chris O'Grady and Ryan Mendes could be set for returns, as well as experienced midfielder David Vaughan.

Promotion favourites Middlesbrough go into the tie on the back of three wins in a row and sit second in the table, five points behind leaders Brighton. They have lost just once in their opening seven games - a 1-0 home defeat to Bristol City - and only QPR and Ipswich Town have scored more goals than Aitor Karanka's side. They also have the sternest defence in the division, having conceded just four goals in the opening seven matches.

Recent wins over Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons and Brentford mean that the Teessiders go to the City Ground full of confidence, despite only winning once in 22 visits to Nottinghamshire.

Like Dougie Freedman, Karanka has an almost full squad of players of pick for the tie, with Ben Gibson returning from a hamstring injury. Albert Adomah is also back in from the cold following a bust-up with his manager, and Cristhian Stuani is likely to start after scoring seven goals in nine games after joining from Spanish side Espanyol.

However, experienced defender Jonathan Woodgate will miss the game through injury.
