Hull City have the opportunity to record their best home start to a league season for 32 years with a win against Queens Park Rangers this afternoon.

The Tigers have won all three of their home games so far this campaign, scoring six goals and conceding just one, but this will be no pushover for the hosts, with QPR winning their last two games on the road.

This was a Premier League fixture last season, and despite Steve Bruce's side getting the better of the Hoops on both occasions last term, it is a very different scenario going in to Saturday's game.

Fifth-place Hull will be looking to follow up on Tuesday night's 2-0 win away at Cardiff City, where as QPR will be looking to end the week with a victory, following a defeat to Nottingham Forest, and a disappointing draw with Blackburn Rovers, both of which were at Loftus Road.

Charlie Austin will be instrumental in the R's push for promotion.

The Englishman found the net 18 times in the Premier League last season, including one against this afternoon's opposition, and having already scored five times this season, QPR boss Chris Ramsey will be hoping Austin can continue that form at the KC Stadium this afternoon.

Mohamed Diame instantly hit the ground running when he signed for Hull City on the summer deadline day in 2014, scoring three goals in his first five games, but a long injury setback meant that the Senegalese midfielder missed the remainder of the season, and had to watch the Tigers' relegation from the confines of the touchline.

Diame has since returned to action for Hull this campaign, and has picked up where he left off.

The Tigers claimed their first away win of the season at Cardiff on Tuesday, and Diame was the difference, scoring Hull's first and assisting the second. The 28-year-old looks every bit a Premier League player, and will be integral if Hull are to sustain a promotion push.

Saturday's game should be a hugely entertaining affair, with two of the Championship's form players coming up against each other for two teams desperate for an immediate return to the Premier League.
