What better way to start the third weekend of the Championship season than with a Midlands derby between Birmingham City and Derby County at St. Andrews.

Birmingham have made a fairly solid start under Gary Rowett. They opened with a 2-1 win over Reading and were minutes away from overcoming Burnley last weekend, before Matt Taylor’s stunning free-kick snatched a point for the Clarets.

Spanish-born Jon Toral has scored in both games and will be looking to continue his bright start against the Rams.

Derby have began life under Paul Clement with three consecutive draws and a shock defeat to League a Two side Portsmouth in the Capital One Cup.

The promotion favourites have shown great character in their most recent two games, though, coming from behind against both Charlton Athletic and Middlesbrough to rescue a point.

Chris Martin opened his account for the season against the Addicks and, having scored twice in the last three meetings with the Blues, will fancy his chances of adding to his tally at St. Andrew’s.

Indeed, Derby are unbeaten in the last four clashes between the sides, including a 4-0 romp here last season.
