Sadler, 30, moved to the Millers last summer from Crawley Town, but returned to the League one side on loan in September 2014.

The 30-year-old left-back Sadler started his career with Birmingham City before moving to Watford. He spent time with Walsall and Crawley before making the move to Rotherham but has found his chances with the Championship side limited.

“Mat is a good footballer with bags of experience in the game,” said Oldham’s caretaker manager Dean Holden to BBC Sport.

“With the injury to Joseph Mills and the suspension of Brian Wilson, Sads will be a good addition to our squad.”

England youth international Luke Woodland, is yet to feature for the Wanderers after coming through their academy.

Dean Holden said: “Luke has impressed me every time I have watched him play. He’s technically gifted with an excellent range of passing but also enjoys the defensive side of the game.
“Luke has a real desire to improve his game and crucially he has a fantastic attitude which is key to learning.”

Both players are available for Oldham’s League One match against Barnsley on Saturday.

The Latics currently sit in 15th position in Sky Bet League One, having accumulated 46 points from 34 league games.
