West Bromwich Albion defender Ahmed Hegazi has been pictured in hospital, after undergoing surgery on an injury that will see him miss the early parts of the 2019/20 campaign.

Reports from the Express and Star on Friday night claimed that the Egypt international is set to miss the early stages of the 2019/20 campaign, due to an injury that was aggravated in the African Cup of Nations.

Hegazi nursed the injury problem during the latter stages of the 2018/19 campaign - a season in which he was a hugely important player for the Baggies as they were defeated in the play-off semi-finals.

But after Egypt were knocked out in the round of 16 against South Africa, Hegazi has now posted a picture of himself post-surgery, amid reports that he will miss the early parts of the season.

Slaven Bilic's side travel to Nottingham Forest on the opening day of the campaign before Millwall twice in a matter of days, once in the league, and once in the Carabao Cup.

Here, though, we take a look at West Brom fans' reactions to the latest news on Hegazi...
