Middlesbrough have been boosted by the news that Jonny Howson will be sticking around on Teesside for another 12 months, with the midfielder extending his deal with Neil Warnock’s side.
On the whole, it has been a good weekend for Boro, who beat Stoke City to ease their relegation fears, with Howson’s commitment only adding to the joy at the Riverside.
It was announced on the club’s official website yesterday that Howson, now 32, had agreed a 12-month extension on his contract, meaning he’s tied down for the remaining seven games of this season, alongside the 2020/21 campaign.

Howson has made over 130 appearances for Boro since arriving from Norwich and has impressed with his versatility in recent seasons. He’s featured at full-back and centre-back, as well in the midfield, where he is, undoubtedly, most comfortable.
