Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall is reportedly set to put pen to paper on a new deal at the City Ground.

The Athletic's Daniel Taylor claims that the homegrown defender has agreed to sign a new deal with his boyhood club, with his current deal not set to run out until 2022.

Worrall has been a key player for Forest under Sabri Lamouchi this season, playing a key role in helping Forest fight for promotion after returning from a season-long loan spell at Rangers last term.

The 23-year-old has made 34 appearances in all competitions this season, really stepping up to the plate in the absence of Michael Dawson, who has endured a couple of injury problems.

Forest have only conceded 31 goals in the Championship thus far this season, and that is largely down to Worrall forging a solid understanding and partnership with Tobias Figueiredo.
