Championship newboys Charlton Athletic are set for a massive boost with the news that Lee Bowyer is set to pen a new deal at the club.
According to the Daily Mail, Bowyer is set to put an end to speculation surrounding his future with the Addicks by signing a new deal.
The fomer Leeds and Newcastle midfielder was thought to have attracted admiring glances from the likes of QPR following his play-off final success at Wembley last month, and with his contract due to expire in the summer, Charlton fans were rightly nervous.
However, Bowyer now looks set to put and end to any worry his fans might have by signing a new deal at the Valley as he looks to build on the club’s success and cement their place in the Championship in the coming seasons.
Bowyer has impressed since taking the managerial reins at the Valley and he cemented his increasing reputation by leading them to promotion this year.
There is no details yet on the length or terms of the new deal but it is believed Bowyer is willing to commit to the club which have him his big break in football many years back.
