‘Massive blow,’ ‘Gutted’ – Many Derby County fans react over latest player setback

A number of Derby County fans have been reacting to the latest injury blow suffered by midfielder Krystian Bielik following the Rams’ 1-0 victory against Bristol City at home on Saturday.

The Rams produced an impressive performance against their play-off chasing opponents and controlled the game very well for the most part after taking an early lead. Wayne Rooney’s side were able to hold on to claim a third successive league win and move all the way up to 18th place in the Championship table.

However, there was one major negative on an otherwise very encouraging afternoon for Derby, with Bielik having been withdrawn with what looked like a potentially serious injury inside the 36th minute. That will be a major concern for the Rams, with the midfielder a heavily influential performer for them and having the ability to add composure in possession and protection to the defence.

Following the win against Bristol City, Rooney revealed that the injury to Bielik will be assessed over the next few days to determine the extent of the damage. While he also said he remains hopeful that it will not be too serious. That is fully understandable because the Rams have only just been starting to see the best of him since his return from a serious injury.

Many Derby fans were gutted by the latest injury setback to the midfielder, with some believing that losing him again for a while would be a massive blow to their hopes of maintaining their recent upturn in form.
