Bradford City have confirmed the return of striker Eoin Doyle from his loan spell at Swindon Town after they activated his recall clause today.

Doyle signed for Swindon on-loan in the summer and the striker had arrived looking to show his worth and repay his faith in Richie Wellens at the County Ground. He has done so emphatically in the first half of the season, playing 22 games in the league so far, scoring an immense 23 goals for the Robins this season.

The Bantams have ensured in-form striker Doyle returns to the club to help them towards their own promotion push and after firing Swindon Town to the top of League Two after 26 games, which thoroughly harms Wellens’ side’s prospects going forward.

Having moved away from Bradford, Bantams’ manager Gary Bowyer was left to play with their main senior strikers Clayton Donaldson, James Vaughan and Aramide Oteh, who haven’t yet proven that this loan was good business, especially when juxtaposed with the goal-scoring exploits of Doyle in a Swindon shirt this season.

Bowyer has moved fast to secure the services of Doyle to help their own promotion push for the rest of the season by recalling him to the Utilita Energy Stadium, the West Yorkshire club have confirmed.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Bowyer was delighted to have Doyle back at the club already. He stated: "It is great to have Eoin back in the squad.

"To say he is bang in form would be an understatement and it is up to us to keep producing chances for him.

"He is a model professional, who looks after himself well. We look forward to seeing him scoring goals for us.

"He will be like a new signing and will fill the rest of lads with a lot of confidence."
