Luongo, 29, is now closing in on a league return, or at least that's what Moore hopes.

Wednesday host Gillingham at Hillsborough on Saturday, looking to carry their Papa John's Trophy form into League One.

An inconsistent start to the season has seen Wednesday lose three times in the opening 16 games, as well as drawing seven. That's left them eighth in the table, two points adrift of the top-six.

The Verdict

Getting Luongo - and Byers - fit will be a big boost for Wednesday.

The early signs in the Papa John's Trophy were encouraging and if they can carry that back into the league, Wednesday are only going to go in one direction.

Looking at the way Luongo is speaking on social media, he seems buzzing to be back and ready to help Wednesday start climbing the table.

Fans are going to love that.
