Charlton Athletic look a revitalised unit under Johnnie Jackson, with the Addicks surging up the table after he was temporarily appointed.

It remains to be seen if he will be awarded with the permanent job at The Valley, but as things stand, he is doing all he can to try and secure the role on a full-time basis.

The Addicks have picked up 14 points in seven games under Jackson's leadership, having accumulated a mere nine points in the 13 games before that.

With January fast approaching, and therefore the opening of the transfer window, it would seem that if Thomas Sandgaard was to opt for another manager, now would be the time to do it.

Here, we take a look at two transfer talking points, a month before the window opens...

Mason Burstow

According to The Athletic, over 50 scouts were sent to watch Charlton's 2-1 victory over Aston Villa U21s on Tuesday, and whilst they were sent to cast their eyes over several exciting talents within the Villa camp, it would be no surprise if Charlton's teenage forward would have caught the eye.

Burstow netted the opening goal for the Addicks, showing tremendous pace and composure to convert from a tight angle.

The 18-year-old has three goals in six games at first-team level for Charlton this season and he will be hoping to gain some more minutes in the league in the run up to January.

Elliot Lee on a permanent deal

Elliot Lee is proving to be an excellent addition at The Valley this season, since joining on a season-long loan from Championship club Luton Town.

The 26-year-old has chipped in with two goals and three assists in the league so far this season and he is consistently putting in good performances from an attacking midfield position.

It will be interesting to see if Charlton could secure a permanent deal for Lee in January, as it remains to be seen what his future at Luton may look like.

Last year, the Addicks managed to convert Andrew Shinnie's loan from Luton into a permanent deal, and Charlton fans will be hoping that the same could be done this time around.
