Crawley Town have confirmed that midfielder Marvin Elliot will sign a one year deal prior to the home match against Port Vale on Saturday, the Crawley News understands.
The midfielder has made nine first-team appearances, scoring three goals and Crawley manager John Gregory has been impressed since his debut. “Marvin Elliott came into centre midfield and he hasn’t played since February, but he was amazing”, He said to Crawley News.
“I thought about taking him off with ten minutes to go just in case he damaged something, but I stuck with him right until the end because we were still in the game”.
“It is very rare you get the opportunity to sign someone of Marvin’s experience, so we are delighted. It is only a short-term arrangement to begin with but if it works out well for both parties then we’ll see if we can do something more permanent,” beamed the Crawley Manager.
The 30-year-old defensive midfielder played 262 games and scored 28 goals during seven years with Bristol City before he was released in the summer after breaking his ankle in February.
The midfielder, who has won nine caps for Jamaica, including the failed 2014 World Cup campaign began his career at Millwall and played for them in the 2004 FA Cup final.
