Nottingham Forest are closing in on a shock move for Martin ‘O Neill who has been in advanced talks with the club this week.
It is believed if an agreement is reached, the former Aston Villa boss will leave his post as Republic of Ireland manager and leave assistant manager Roy Keane, who already has managerial experience at clubs including Ipswich town in the Championship to take over.
Martin O’Neill has been backed in to 3/1 from 20/1 to be the next Nottingham Forest manager on a variety of bookmakers, and is one of the favourites alongside Gianfranco Zola and Steve Clarke.
Malky Mackay and Stuart Pearce have already ruled themselves out of taking the managerial vacancy at the City Ground.
