Marseille lining up a bid for Championship midfielder

Marseille are interested in the signing of Villa midfielder Carlos Sanchez, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The French side were reportedly linked with fellow Villain Idrissa Gueye but Di Matteo made it clear that he was not up for sale.

As well as this, they were also reported to have not been able to afford the £7 million transfer fee for the Senegalese.

So the Ligue 1 team have now turned their attention to Colombian international, Carlos Sanchez.

The former Champions League winners are ready to table a £3 million bid for the midfielder and they are confident that the deal will be enough to lure him away from Villa Park.

The 30-year-old signed for Villa in the summer of 2014 and he has made 56 appearances for the club since. When he did make the move to Villa Park, he cost them around £4.7 million so Roberto Di Matteo might want a higher fee than just £3 million.

Villa fans… Would you be sad to see Sanchez leave? Does he play a big part in your side? Let us know what you think down below!
