With the new season only two weeks ago, pre-season preparations for clubs up and down the country are well underway, and Derby County are no different.

Frank Lampard is heading into his first season as a manager and has already had a positive summer after securing the loan signings of Mason Mount from Chelsea and Harry Wilson from Liverpool.

Florian Jozefzoon has also arrived on a three-year-deal from Brentford, too, to much acclaim.

It seems the board are really backing the former Chelsea man ahead of attempting a sustained promotion challenge this season.

And that has translated to the Rams’ supporters who are buoyant ahead of another chance at breaking what seems to be a curse for the club in securing a spot back to the Premier League.

With the transfer window closing in less than three weeks, the time is now to start to move players on, if the intention is the bring new players to the club to help achieve the goal of promotion.

Here are three transfer deals Derby and Lampard should move quickly to try and complete ahead of the new season in two weeks.

The Peterborough striker scored 33 goals in all competitions last season and the Rams have already seen three bids rebuffed by the League One side.

The 23-year-old is an exceptional talent and one that Lampard should move quickly to bring in.

Lampard has been backed by the Derby hierarchy already and they should do once again to bring in the Posh sensation.

Doing so will show that the club really mean business ahead of the new season kicking-off.

The former Derby loanee is a player that Lampard and assistant Jody Morris will know all about.

Chelsea’s academy product is a midfielder that was predominantly used as a substitute towards the end of the campaign.

Palmer spent the first half of last season on loan at Huddersfield before a move to Pride Park.

The management team will now what the 21-year-old is capable of and he would be a real quality addition once more.

You would expect Pamer to play a more prominent part of the Derby side under Lampard. Sign him up.

Every team needs a bit of flair in their side, a bit of excitement, and Maddison is that spark.

Since his arrival at Peterbrough from non-league Gateshead, the attacking player has been a hit with the fans at London Road.

Lampard should move to snap up Maddison at all costs, even if it was a double deal with fellow Posh player and current Rams target Jack Marriott.

Maddison has what it takes to make it at a higher level, and the Lampard factor could well be what makes the Peterborough star look to move to Pride Park.

Derby should do all they can to add this man to their squad within the next two weeks.
