Nottingham Forest appointed Mark Warburton as their new manager last week and his first job will be to keep the Reds in the Sky Bet Championship.

Just one point separates Forest from the relegation zone and Warburton has eight games to save their second tier status.

Once Warburton secures survival, he will cast his mind ahead to the summer transfer window.

Nottingham Forest are in desperate need of a summer overhaul with plenty of fringe players being offloaded so that new faces can be brought in.

Working alongside the Director of Football Frank McParland, who was with him at Rangers, Warburton will already be drawing up a list of potential transfer targets for the upcoming summer window.

One area he could look to explore is to target players he has worked with before at Brentford or Rangers.

Here are 2 players who Mark Warburton should be looking to reunite with this summer at Nottingham Forest.

James Tavernier

Nottingham Forest have been linked with Rangers right back James Tavernier recently.

The attack-minded right back, who can also play as a winger, has been a key figure in the Rangers team for the past two seasons, racking up over 80 appearances for the Scottish side.

The 25-year-old could be tempted with a move back to England, though, after spells with Newcastle, Rotherham and Wigan, among others, before he made his move to Ibrox.

Alex Pritchard

Alex Pritchard was Mark Warburton's star at Brentford as he guided the Bees to an unlikely play-off position in their first Championship season.

On loan from Tottenham at the time, the former England under-21 international scored 12 goals in 48 games for the Bees as well as winning the accolade of Brentford Player of the Season and being named in the PFA Championship Team of the Season.

Since then, the 23-year-old has signed permanently for Norwich but they are under-using him and he might be tempted to reunite with Warburton at Forest.
