Mark Warburton thanked the Queens Park Rangers fans who made the journey to watch the side beat Bristol City in dramatic fashion last night.

A stoppage time header from Yoann Barbet sealed a 2-1 win for the R's, after it had seemed to be a frustrating evening for Warburton's men who were up against ten men for most of the second half.

The win sees the Londoners just a point outside the play-off places with up to two games in hand on most of the teams above them, so it really was a crucial three point.

And, taking to Twitter, Warburton thanked the support on what felt like a big night for the R's.

"Fantastic to see so many QPR fans at the game last night. To make the trip at such an expensive time of year and to give the team such backing, was truly outstanding. Many thanks to each and every supporter."

QPR are back in action on January 2 when they travel to take on Birmingham City as they look to move back into the top six.

The verdict

The support are sure to appreciate these words from Warburton, and it's good to see the boss recognises the challenges that the fans faced to get to the game last night at this time of the year.

You can be sure that everyone who did go was delighted they did after the way they won, with Barbet's header potentially a massive moment in their season.

It's now about building on that and trying to pick up another three points in what will be a challenging game at Birmingham.
