Mark Warburton has stated that if QPR find victory on Saturday, then they will be in a 'great position' heading into the international break.

The R's take on a Middlesbrough side who have really struggled so far this season, and Jonathan Woodgate's team have slipped into the bottom three in recent weeks.

It isn't the start that he would have hoped for when taking over, but it gives QPR a great chance to bounce back on the weekend.

Warburton's side have had a great start to the campaign, and have looked brilliant going forward. However, defensively they have been undone, failing to keep a clean sheet in their first 15 games of the new season.

Warburton believes that a victory on Saturday would be huge for his side, and would would see them head into the international break in a great position.

Speaking to QPR's official website, Warburton said: “Going into the international break with a good three points, we’d be in a great position.

“The Championship is so relentless, you have to focus one game at a time and if anything isn’t quite right then you pay the price, as I have said before.

"We have to recognise the good performances we’ve put in at places like Millwall at Sheffield Wednesday, getting results there too. We are a good side and we need to remember that.”

The Verdict

It should be a fascinating game on Saturday, with Middlesbrough in desperate need of any points possible. On the other hand, you have a QPR side who have had a good start to the season but have slipped off in recent weeks.

The game itself should be entertaining, as it always is with the R's, and I think they'll come away with victory.

Warburton is a good manager, and he can allow his side to bounce back with venom. If I were a Middlesbrough player, I would be ready to take the full force of a hurt QPR side.
