Mark Warburton has spoken strongly via his personal Twitter page strongly advising that a return date for the EFL and Premier League should be put out a lot further away than it currently is.

As it stands, the EFL and Premier League have confirmed that no football will be played before April 30th at the very earliest, with this date now looking increasingly unlikely.

With the United Kingdom currently in a state of lockdown as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, the chances of football being played this month, or even next month, appear slim.

The QPR boss has stressed that setting a date further into the future will allow for better planning, whilst allowing people to focus on what is really important at this time.

The National League has suspended football 'indefinitely' a stance that the EFL and Premier League may take as they conjure up a plan on how to complete the 2019/20 season.

Warburton's QPR side currently sit in 13th place in the Sky Bet Championship table, six points away from the play-off zone.
