Mark Warburton has stated that QPR youngster Ilias Chair must bide his time after the midfielder was left on the substitute's bench once more in the defeat at Barnsley.

Despite the 5-3 loss, Chair actually managed to net a late consolation goal for the R's but it wasn't enough as they were torn to shreds by a strong Tykes side on Saturday.

The 21-year-old has been dropped from the starting XI in recent weeks, and questions have now been asked to Warburton after QPR conceded five on the weekend.

The experienced manager expressed that he's still young, and he must wait but has guaranteed that he'll have more than enough time out on the pitch.

Speaking to London Football News, Warburton said: “He’s 21. They all want to play in the Premier League. But right now you have to work hard and bide your time.

“Marc Pugh, who has played in the Premier League and in the Championship, has had to be patient.

“Ilias is a very talented boy and is working hard. He’ll have more than enough pitch time.”

The Verdict

It's set to be a really interesting few weeks for Chair, especially if he wants to get back into the starting XI. There's no reason why he shouldn't, especially after Saturday's really poor team performance at Barnsley.

The next game is against Charlton and it would seem like the perfect game to bring in an enthusiastic youngster, as QPR look to beat one of their London rivals in front of their own supporters.

Chair has to be remain patient and must remember that he has a long career ahead of him, and Warburton is only trying to do what's best for the youngster.
