Mark Warburton has set his sights on adding three of four quality players to his Nottingham Forest squad during the summer, reports the Nottingham Post.
Forest have endured a difficult campaign in the Sky Bet Championship, having to wait until the final day of the season to confirm their second-tier status, after a rollercoaster relegation battle.
Looking ahead to a busy summer, Warburton insisted he would only look for a handful of signings and not completely overhaul his squad, he said: “You have to identify areas where you can strengthen; areas where you can add more quality.
“It is not about adding nine or 10 players, it is about adding three or four to the squad and using the loan market, if we have to.”
Yesterday’s 3-0 victory over Ipswich Town helped Forest avoid relegation to League One, but Warburton’s side still finished the season in 21st place, level on points with relegated Blackburn Rovers.
The summer ahead will be crucial for Forest, with the club on the verge of a takeover and Fawaz Al Hasawi’s controversial time at the City Ground set to come to an end.
