Queens Park Rangers midfielder Chris Willock sustained a minor knee injury in yesterday's clash with Swansea City.

As cited by West London Sport, R's manager Mark Warburton has confirmed that the midfielder picked up this issue at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Willock was substituted in the 82nd minute of this fixture as QPR were forced to settle for a point in their showdown with the Jacks.

In what turned out to be a frustrating evening for the R's, Warburton's side were unable to deliver the goods in-front of their own supporters.

With Swansea having 58% possession during this fixture, QPR only managed to create two clear-cut opportunities in this fixture.

Luke Amos' effort was denied by the woodwork in the second-half before Lyndon Dykes' strike was comfortably saved by Ben Hamer.

Swansea ended the clash with ten men as Flynn Downes was dismissed following an altercation with Charlie Austin in stoppage-time.

Currently fourth in the Championship standings, the R's will be looking to get back to winning ways at this level when they face Reading on Saturday.

By sealing all three points in this fixture, QPR could potentially close the gap between them and the automatic promotion places.

The Verdict

This is a relatively encouraging update on Willock as he could potentially be in contention to feature for the R's on Saturday due to the fact that his knee problem is not believed to be too serious.

A key figure for QPR this season, the attacking midfielder has scored six goals and has provided seven assists for his team-mates in 25 Championship appearances.

If Willock is given the all-clear to participate this weekend, he will unquestionably fancy his chances of causing havoc for Reading's defenders in this fixture as Veljko Paunovic's side have failed to keep a clean-sheet in each of their last 14 league fixtures.

By maintaining his form for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign, the 23-year-old could help his side secure a top-six finish in the second-tier.
