Coventry City boss Mark Robins has told Coventry Live that he wants his side to get to 50 points before thinking about anything else.

The Sky Blues have been one of the Sky Bet Championship's surprise packages so far and currently occupy fourth place after making a stunning start to the season upon their return to the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Robins saw his side pick up yet another impressive victory at the weekend as Matty Godden's well taken header earnt them all three points away at Hull City on Saturday.

Now the manager has aimed to quell any talk about a potential promotion push after hitting the 27 point mark, whilst also setting his charges a target:

"Let's get to 50!

"We have to look at every game at a time because the league really is tough. We have a really tough week with Swansea and Bristol City, but also then an international break and then the games come thick and fast again.

"No-one gets carried away."

The recent form of Godden has been a source of great pride for Coventry, with their recent decision to hand him a new contract having been fully justified by a return of three goals in his last three games.

Robins and his side will now be looking to achieve a positive result tomorrow night as they take on Swansea on home turf.

The Verdict

Coventry have been so impressive so far this season and there is now a real feeling that this could be the start of something special for the Sky Blues.

They do need to quite rightly keep their feet on the ground but it feels like the momentum is only continuing to build amongst the current squad.

Moving back to their city has certainly helped and it would be fair to say that the players have all adapted well to the system and style of play that has been employed by Robins.

The challenge now will be to calm the expectations and just take one game at a time moving forwards.
