Coventry City manager Mark Robins has urged his side to bounce back from last weekend's defeat to Tranmere Rovers by delivering a memorable performance against Milton Keynes Dons tomorrow.

Having initially made a positive start to the 2019/20 campaign, the Sky Blues have experienced somewhat of a slump in form in recent weeks

Following an underwhelming performance in their clash with Doncaster Rovers last month, Coventry were then swept aside by Rotherham United.

Although the Sky Blues would have been aiming to get back to winning ways against Tranmere, they were unable to break down Micky Mellon's side at St Andrew's despite dominating the clash.

With the game seemingly drifting towards a stalemate, Rovers clinched all three points in the 83rd minute via a fantastic strike from Corey Blackett-Taylor.

Currently seventh in the League One standings, the Sky Blues could move back into the play-off places tomorrow depending on results elsewhere.

Speaking to the local press (as cited by Coventry's official Twitter account) ahead of Saturday's clash, Robins said: "We take a huge number [of supporters] to MK and whatever happens, there will be a big number behind us tomorrow wanting to see a performance.

"We will go there tomorrow with confidence and try to get a first away win [of the season].

"There shouldn't be any pressure on us, just the pressure we put on ourselves to perform.

"We want to give the supporters something to shout about and if we do that they'll have a good day."

The Verdict

Having recently agreed a new deal with the Sky Blues (via BBC Sport), Robins will now be determined to take the club to new heights in the not too distant future.

With a top-six finish on the agenda for the current campaign, it is imperative that the Sky Blues improve their away form in League One as they have only managed to pick up four points from a possible fifteen on their travels.

Providing that Coventry seal victory at Stadium MK tomorrow, they could use the momentum gained from this result to push on over the coming months.
