Coventry City forward Jodi Jones has stepped up his recovery to full fitness and will feature for the club’s U23 side against Colchester United on Monday evening.
A huge fan favourite, Jones has been working hard behind the scenes to get back to full fitness and he has now featured for Coventry’s second string several times.
Seeing his current contract expire in June, Jones will now be hoping to return to the first team and convince boss Mark Robins to offer him a new deal.
Since Jones was ruled out through injury, the Sky Blues have produced consistently good form in League One and they now sit second – looking to seal an automatic promotion to the Championship.
Goals from Callum O’Hare and Maxime Biamou ensured that the Sky Blues secured all three points at the weekend against Southend, and Robins will be hoping his side can replicate that performance when they meet Rochdale this coming Saturday afternoon.
Jones’ performance and time on the pitch will be watched closely by Robins on Monday evening, and he could make a return to the squad at the weekend if all goes well.

Th return of Jones at this time in the season is just another boost for Coventry as he proved himself to be an exciting, classy player before his awful luck with injuries.
The Sky Blues look like they could go up, and that would be a remarkable achievement from Robins and his squad.
Whether or not they will offer Jones a new deal is still up in the air, but if the crowd favourite can come back and make a good impression – then the decision will pretty much have been made.
